On March 21, 2026, Changi Airports International (CAI)âthe operator of Singapore Changi Airport, consistently ranked among the worldâs top three airportsâofficially signed a strategic partnership to co-manage Phu Quoc International Airport. CAI will be involved throughout the entire development lifecycle, from design consultancy and operational system development to full-scale management post-launch.
Vision:Â to transform Phu Quoc into Vietnamâs first âairport as a destination,â featuring a world-class ecosystem of retail, dining, and duty-free experiences.
The airport expansion project spans 1,050 hectares, with a designed capacity of 20 million passengers per year and a total investment of nearly VND 22 trillion, expected to be completed ahead of APEC 2027. Key components include a second runway (ICAO 4E standard), Terminal 2 for international flights, a dedicated VIP terminal, and expanded aircraft parking aprons.
In aviation, direct international routes to Phu Quoc continue to grow rapidly. A daily route to Seoul will commence on April 17, 2026, complementing existing connections from South Korea, Taiwan, and domestic hubs.
South Korea was Vietnamâs second-largest inbound market in 2025, with approximately 4.3 million arrivals. Phu Quoc alone welcomed nearly 3,000 flights from South Korea, serving over 555,000 passengersâan increase of 12% year-on-year. New routes to Busan, Bangkok, Singapore, and Hong Kong are expected to be added this year.
A strategic leap forward, setting a new benchmark for aviation infrastructure in Phu Quoc.
Upgraded Airport: A Catalyst for Private Aviation
The new VIP terminal represents the very infrastructure that private aviation has long been awaiting. At present, Phu Quoc lacks a dedicated FBO (Fixed Base Operator) or a true VIP terminal by international standards. Once completed ahead of APEC 2027, charter passengers will be served in a fully separate facility, aligned with Changi standardsâbefore enjoying seamless transfers to their resorts.
The second runway, built to ICAO 4E standards, will be capable of accommodating heavy jets such as the Gulfstream G650 and Bombardier Global. Private aircraft will benefit from significantly enhanced flexibility, avoiding congestion with commercial traffic.
APEC 2027 alone is expected to bring hundreds of heads of state, CEOs, and high-level delegations requiring charter services. JetVina is honored to provide private aviation solutions, premium flight experiences, and fully personalized services for distinguished leaders and executives, both domestic and international.
The journey to the Pearl Island begins with spaces that match its prestige.
